OK so maybe Summer is a bit of a reach but I would settle for Spring at this point. When I came in this morning it was snowing! Needless to say I find that a little depressing! So thought I would share some of our most popular new Summer items to get you in the mood for that nice weather that will hopefully be back soon!
I absolutley love these new cooler totes we have. They are fully insulated and wipe clean. Not to mention they are super cute. We have them in a chevron print which is super hot right now and a cute ring print.
This black ring print sundress is so cute and we have a couple of different hats to match!
Our beach bags have already been a hot item also! We are already sold out of the black ring beach bag but still have the navy/yellow geometric beach bag. Super cute!
This navy coverup has a tie front and white embroidered design. Great for those days on the beach or hanging out by the pool! And the hat is a great finishing touch!
So stop and see us. We’ll get you in the mood for Summer and outfitted for it as well!
We’d like to let you know about a special event we have coming up this Spring. Please join us for a fashion show supporting Love INC of Livingston County! This fun event will take place at Oak Pointe Country Club on May 9th, 2012. The following Downtown Brighton Merchants will be participating:
So join us for a great time and an even better cause! Here is a little more about Love INC:
Love INC stands for Love In the Name of Christ. We are a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to meeting basic needs like food, shelter, clothing, transportation, and money management. To accomplish this, we assist on an individual level and on community levels. While assisting the immediate needs of folks in crisis, we also seek to transform community practices that tend to grip citizens in the hand of poverty–practices that affect community development, child care, health care, and more.
Has anyone tried the new trend of hair chalking? Well it’s not really that new but I’ve sure been seeing a lot of it lately and it really is cool! I found this great tutorial over at The Beauty Department!
Here are a couple of her finished looks….so cute!
I found this other tutorial over at A Beautiful Mess that’s so cute, I had to share. Instead of adding color with chalk, it’s done with yarn which is a great option for very dark hair where chalk may not show up as well.
I don’t know about you but these fun colors have me dreaming of Spring!
I thought it would be fun to share some great hair tutorials I found recently! I’m always looking for different things to do with my hair. The Small Things Blog is one of my new favorite go-to blogs for awesome hair tips.
Check out her tutorial on how to wear a headband!
We have plenty of adorable headbands here at the store that will fit the bill for this cute hairdo!
This Half French Twist is so cute also! And super easy!
And I absolutely love this Tucked Away French Braid!
I found this tutorial on how to twist your bangs over at Babes in Hairland. It is so easy and I have already used it so many times!
This last one is how to curl your hair overnight with no heat. I found it over at The Paper Mama. I have actually used this one a few times too and it really works great!
I hope you enjoyed our hair tips and tricks. Stop by the store for all your hair accessory needs! From headbands, to feather and flower clips, to hats……we’ve got you covered!!
Well the holiday season sure kept us busy! Now it’s time to to regroup and get clean and organized! I don’t know about you but after I get the Christmas decorations taken down I go crazy getting things organized! So we thought we would share these fun ways to organize your jewelry!
This first one is so easy and inexpensive anyone can do it! Just a towel rod and shower curtain hooks and voila! I found this idea on this bird can sing.
I think this next one is so pretty. They just used a burlap covered canvas and door/drawer pulls! I found this one on A Woman’s Haven.
OK, this one is really eclectic but so cute and fun for earrings! It was sold on Groove Press but it would be pretty easy to make your own if you have an old cheese grater lying around!
I just LOVE this last one and will be doing this in my closet! I found this at Mini Manor along with a nice tutorial on how she did it! It uses cutlery trays and those little rubber coated hooks. So awesome!
Hopefully these gave you a little inspiration for storing your jewelry!!
Happy Holidays everyone! Christmas is almost upon us and we’ve had a lot of people in the store accessorizing for holiday parties this weekend! Don’t leave those nails naked! Here is some inspiration for you. Some of these would be easier to do than others but all of them are just plain fun and festive! Enjoy!
